Grand debate on Nutrition Security

One of the greatest challenges of the 21st century is on providing food and nutrition security while dealing with climate change. Often the focus of the debate and research is limited to food security alone, and access to food and the consumption of safe and nutritious food are indeed important aspects.

The aim of the event is to bring together approximately 100 leading researchers, policy makers and politicians to:

  • facilitate a dialogue between stakeholders to deepen our understanding of the challenge we are facing in providing future generations with a sustainable and nutritious food supply, thereby ensuring a healthy population.
  • identify the role that both JPIs and their MS can play in tackling this societal challenge through the articulation of the research questions that should be addressed both individually and collaboratively by the JPIs.

Built around two interactive panel discussions and through engagement with the audience and web streaming with over 20 countries, the event will be able to produce insights for a wide-ranging community.

Switzerland will be represented by: Dr. Andreas Aeschlimann, Agroscope Member of the Governing Boards of both FACCE and HDHL JPI
